Our Story

A Place to Belong, A Space to Thrive

"The Half Door has given me back my Fridays—and friends I now call family."

— Jean Morrow, Chairperson

Founded in the heart of Fivemiletown, the Half Door Club takes its name from the traditional Irish architectural feature—symbolizing an open welcome while providing shelter and security. For over two decades, we've been that open door for older people across County Tyrone.

Every week, our members gather not just to pass time, but to reclaim it. In a world that often moves too fast, we create space for conversation that meanders, for laughter that echoes, and for connections that deepen with every shared cup of tea.

The benefits advice session helped me claim entitlements I didn't know existed. That practical support, combined with the friendship, makes this place invaluable.
